Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend 
This week has had its challenges and I am tired. Still I feel good that I can come home tonight play cards with my Grandma and blog to all my wonderful followers 
Thought I would share a recent photo of the “ladies”. The “lady” that got hurt this past fall and we almost lost is on the right. She has filled out, gotten her feather’s back, and is doing well. We even think she is laying again

Yes we hope she is we have 10 ladies and the last 2 days we have gotten 10 eggs so things are looking good

Great picture!!! It is great to see someone who actually cares about animals the way you do. Your posts about them are always so nice. I love animals too, especially birds. What kind of “ladies” are they? My sister at one time had Rhode Island Reds, kinda look like that. Just wondering. We are thinking of getting some laying hens in the spring here, hopefully anyway.

They are Rhode Island’s… we love this variety of bird. They are harty in all weather and good layers. I have heard that you can eat them but they are only good for broilers. I am glad you enjoy my posts… I really adore animals (except snakes) and love to care for them

Some people think I’m a little nutty about my girls, like when I made a couple of them little jackets so their feathers could grow back and they’d be warm … But I really do love them.

I can’t say I have made jackets, but I have gone the extra mile to make sure they get well when they are sick or hurt. I am glad you enjoy your “ladies” as much as we enjoy ours

I don’t know if you saw the girls In in their little Mickey Mouse sweaters on my blog with a pattern for them, but they worked great and were so cute. I got the idea from another chicken lover friend of mine. My other friends thought it was too funny.

I think I did see that one. I think I will leave the jackets up to you. I don’t think I would be any good at it and my hubby keeps telling me they are not pets they are a source of food (eggs). But it is a cute idea

Yea, my son’s dog killed one of out leghorn pair, Lucy, leaving us with an unmatched Ethel. I wasn’t very happy about it and he gently reminded me saying, “mom, that’s why you shouldn’t name chickens”. He could be right.

I can’t tell our apart so I can’t name them. We only have hurt girl and sick girl and now that they are better I am having a hard time tellign them apart from the other’s. We have all rhode island reds.

Well we only have 4 that we got last summer … 2 white leghorns I named Lucy and Ethel and 2 Rhode Island reds I named Shirley and Lavern. Ethel and Shirley had been pecked at by the rooster the owners had and had naked backs so telling everyone apart was easy. When Lucy got killed our son gave us one of his Buff Orpingtons, Goldie, who looked completely different. Fortunately when Shirley’s feathers grew back they were distinctly different from Laverne’s. See what happens when you lose your dog and have to resort to chickens for pets? Lol

We have two dogs and the chickens. We got chickens when we fond out it may be hard for us to have a baby so that may be crazier then getting chickens when you loose a dog

I pray with a group of women and one of the things we’ve really focused on is women in our church family who want babies being able to get pregnant and carry the babies full term. It’s been pretty awesome to see so many miracles happen, several that the doctors told couldn’t conceive, some that had been trying for years, others that had miscarried. We are getting major breakthrough in that area and I declare that same breakthrough and blessing over you!

God is so good and more faithful than we can fathom. I was reading today that no good gift will be withheld from us! And kids are definitely good gifts. I will stand in faith with you and look forward to hearing your testimony that is now just in the making!
